CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUE KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ HAS APPROVED NAMING THE MEDICAL CITY IN MAKKAH AS KING ABDULLAH MEDICAL CITY. IN A PRESS STATEMENT, MINISTER OF HEALTH DR. HAMAD ALMANEA' SAID THE FIRST PHASE OF THE CITY HAS BEEN COMPLETED AT AN AREA OF 750,000 SQUARE METERS. HE ADDED THAT AFTER ANNEXING ALNOOR SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL IN MAKKAH TO IT, THE MEDICAL CITY WILL BE THE LARGEST MEDICAL CITY IN THE KINGDOM AND WILL HAVE A TOTAL OF 1500 BEDS AND 10 SPECIALIZED CENTERS. THE MINISTER EXPLAINED THAT THE CITY CONTAINS THE 500-BED MINA GENERAL HOSPITAL, THE 330 TO 500-BED GYNECOLOGY AND MATERNITY HOSPITAL, A NUMBER OF OTHER MEDICAL INSTALLATIONS AND A BUILDING FOR THE HEALTH AFFAIRS DIRECTORATE.
