Pakistani security forces and Afghan army soldiers exchanged gunfire at the border between the two countries Sunday, leaving at least five Afghan troops dead, a Pakistani military official said. Afghan National Army troops opened «unprovoked» fire at Pakistani border posts in Kurram Agency, a Pakistani tribal region bordering Afghanistan, said Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad, the top spokesman for the Pakistan army. Troops from Pakistan's Frontier Corps returned fire, triggering a gun battle with the Afghan forces, Arshad said. Afghan military officials were not immediately available for comment, the Associated Press reported.
