Saudi Ambassador Ali S Awadh Asseri has presented a cheque of $500,000 to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz as the Kingdom's contribution for organizing an OIC conference on refugees in Islamabad in 2008. An official statement issued here Friday evening said the ambassador appreciated Pakistan's efforts to organize the OIC conference on refugees. Pakistan will organize the OIC conference on refugees in the Muslim world in coordination with OIC and UNHCR. While receiving a message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, Aziz noted the close and historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and this bilateral relationship is a source of strength for the Muslim Ummah (nation). Aziz said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy a strategic partnership, the relations between the two countries take strength from a common faith, history and culture and the two countries enjoy unanimity of views on most global and regional issues. --MORE
