THE SECOND CONFERENCE OF THE LEAGUE OF SENATES, SHOURA COUNCILS AND SIMILAR COUNCILS IN AFRICA AND THE ARAB WORLD WAS CONCLUDED HERE TODAY. THE SAUDI DELEGATION TO THE CONFERENCE WAS LED BY MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL DR. ABDULRAHMAN ALSWAILIM AND INCLUDED MEMBERS DR. IBRAHIM ALISA AND MR. SHBAILI ALQARNI. THE CONFERENCE COMMENDED THE AGREEMENT SIGNED IN RIYADH BETWEEN SUDAN AND CHAD. IN THE FINAL COMMUNIQUE, THE CONFERENCE DEPLORED ACTS OF MURDER, DISPLACEMENT AND ARRESTS AGAINST THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE, CALLED FOR ENDING ALL ASPECTS OF IRAQ'S OCCUPATION, REJECTED ALL FORMS OF EXTREMISM AND TERRORISM AND APPROVED FORMING A COMMITTEE TO HELP SETTLE CONFLICTS BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE ARAB WORLD. IN A STATEMENT TO SAUDI PRESS AGENCY, ALSWAILIM UNDERLINED THE IMPORTANCE OF RELATIONS BETWEEN AFRICA AND THE ARAB WORLD. HE SAID THE SAUDI DELEGATION TO THE CONFERENCE PLAYED AN EFFECTIVE ROLE IN THE DELIBERATIONS OF THE CONFERENCE.
