Dr. Abdulrahman Aljaafari, the Saudi Shoura Council's member and leader of its delegation to the International Parliamentary Union conference, today highlighted the Kingdom's efforts to help curb the proliferation of mass destruction weapons and to fight terrorism. Speaking before a sub-committee, Aljaafari pointed to the Kingdom's call for convening an international conference to combat terrorism scheduled for Riyadh in February 2005. He said the Middle East, the world's most inflammable region, should be mass destruction weapons free area and accordingly denuclearized.
