King Abdullah II of Jordan received Iraqi President Jalal Talabani here last night, on the fringe of the 19th Arab Summit, now in progress in the Saudi capital. During the meeting, King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein affirmed Jordan's concern to support efforts pertaining to the unity and sovereignty of Iraq to accomplish security and stability. "Jordan has a long-standing historic relations with Iraq. We are concerned to support and strengthen this relations for the interests of both countries," the Jordanian Monarch said. On his part, Talabani said that he had been working to deliver Iraqi oil to Jordan and avoid any security obstacles. The Iraqi President said that the Iraqi authorities intended to carry out plans to ensure greater involvement of Iraqi Sunnis in the political process.
