An Afghan plane skidded off the runway at Istanbul's Ataturk airport on Friday and came to a halt resting on its right wing, a news agency reported. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated through emergency slides. The Ariana Afghan Airlines flight from Kabul, Afghanistan, overshot the runway after it landed, The Associated Press quoted private Dogan news agency as saying. None of the 50 people, including 20 crew members, on board was injured, the agency said. It was not immediately clear what caused the Airbus A300 to skid but the runway was slippery due to light rain at the time of the landing.
