Quds, Mar. 10, SPA -- Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in the coming days as part of a trip to the United States that began Saturday, Israel Radio reported according to The Associated Press. A spokesman for Livni did not immediately return a call requesting comment, The AP said. Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz also left Saturday for the United States, where he will meet U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the radio said. Both ministers met with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert before their departure, the radio said. The Israeli ministers will also participate in a meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the radio said. Rice is expected to visit Israel and the Palestinian areas later this month, Israeli media reported Saturday.
