Seven schoolchildren were killed and 11 others were injured on today in Pakistan's central Punjab province after their vehicle was hit by a truck. The head-on collision occurred in the early morning in Nankana district, 75 kilometres south-west of the provincial capital Lahore, dpa quoted the Geo news channel as reporting. The impact killed five students on the spot while the injured children and an adult driver were taken to a local hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries. Nine children in a critical condition were later relocated to Lahore for specialized treatment. Police are searching for the truck driver who escaped after the accident.
