Pakistan s Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Amanullah Jadoon has gone to New Delhi to attend the 2nd Meeting of Energy Ministers of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), says an official statement.. He is heading a six-member delegation. He will deliver a key note address at the conference, highlighting the role being played by Pakistan in promoting cooperation in the energy sector in the region being as active member of the SAARC. On the sideline of the conference, Jadoon will hold meetings with his counterparts from the SAARC member countries to exchange views for promoting bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector. He will explain the investment opportunities and incentives being offered to the prospective investors by the Government of Pakistan in the energy sector. Pakistan is a strong advocate of energy cooperation in South Asia including the concept of an energy ring as maintained by the 12th SAARC Summit. The 1st SAARC Energy Ministers meeting was held in Islamabad which approved the establishment of a SAARC Energy Centre in Pakistan that is operational in Islamabad since March 2006.
