Pakistan Saturday successfully test-fired its short-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile, Hataf-II Abdali, Pakistan Army said. The missile has a range of 200 kilometers and is capable of carrying all types of warheads. A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the test was aimed at validation of the desired technical parameters, which has been successfully achieved. President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz congratulated the scientists, engineers and technicians for the successful test-fire. The statement did not identify the site where the test-fire was conducted. As usual, Pakistan informed its neighbours including India about the test-fire before hand.
