SECRETARY OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL IN IRAN ALI LARINJANI SAID THE IRANIAN NUCLEAR ISSUE COULD NEVER BE SOLVED BY PUTTING PRESSURES, BUT IT COULD BE SOLVED THROUGH NEGOTIATIONS. IN A STATEMENT CARRIED BY THE IRANIAN NEWS AGENCY, LARINJANI SAID FOLLOWING HIS MEETING WITH MOHAMMED AL-BARADI, THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY (IAEA), THAT SHIFTING THE NUCLEAR ISSUE FROM IAEA TO THE UN'S SECURITY COUNCIL IS A WRONG PROCEDURE AND WILL DEFAME IAEA. LARINJANI POINTED OUT THAT HE HAD HELD USEFUL TALKS WITH AL-BARADI ON IRAN'S COOPERATION WITH IAEA. LARINJANI SAID THE IAEA'S INSPECTORS HAVE BEEN PERFORMING THEIR MISSION IN IRAN FOR SHRIVELING ITS NUCLEAR FACILITIES. 'WE HAVE NO PROBLEM IN THIS RESPECT, BUT THE POLITICAL DECISIONS ARE NOT LINKED WITH IAEA,' HE SAID AND ADDED 'THE CONCERNED PARTIES HAVE SHOWN KEENNESS ON RESUMPTION OF NEGOTIATIONS , AND THE STAND OF IRAN IN THIS REGARD IS POSITIVE'.
