HAMEED RIZA ASFI, THE SPOKESMAN FOR THE IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY, SAID THE REPORT SUBMITTED BY DIRECTOR GENERAL OF VIENNA-BASED INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY (IAEA) MOHAMMED AL-BARADI HAS PROVIDED A CLEAR EVIDENCE FOR THE EXISTING COOPERATION BETWEEN IRAN AND THE IAEA, AND AT THE SAME TIME IT HAS UNDERSCORED THE IMPORTANCE OF RESUMPTION OF NEGOTIATIONS. IN A STATEMENT CARRIED BY THE IRANIAN NEWS AGENCY TODAY, ASFI NOTED THAT AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE REPORT IS CONCERNED WITH IRAN'S COOPERATION WITH THE IAEA AND ITS INSPECTORS. 'THE REPORT MAKES IT CLEAR THAT IRAN HAS HONORED ITS COMMITMENTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INTERNATIONAL RESOLUTIONS AND THE TREATY OF NON-PROLIFERATION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS', HE SAID AND ADDED 'THE ACTIVITIES OF IRAN IN THIS RESPECT ARE TRANSPARENT, PUBLIC, PEACEFUL AND FAR AWAY FROM ANY FORM OF AMBIGUITY'. THE SPOKESMAN POINTED OUT THAT IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO EASILY SETTLE THE IRANIAN NUCLEAR ISSUE THROUGH NEGOTIATIONS. 'DESPITE THE PRESSURES PRACTICED BY THE US AND THE ROW MADE BY CERTAIN INTERNATIONAL QUARTERS, THE REPORT SUBMITTED BY IAEA STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF AVOIDING ANY ILLEGAL PROCEDURE THAT AIMS AT REALIZATION OF CERTAIN POLITICAL PURPOSES', HE ELABORATED. THE SPOKESMAN NOTED THAT THE US OFFICIALS BY THEIR UNILATERAL STAND ARE WORKING FOR GIVING A WRONG CONCEPT ABOUT THE REPORT OF AL-BARADI FOR CERTAIN POLITICAL PURPOSES. CONFIRMING THE READINESS OF IRAN ON RESUMPTION OF TALKS WITH GROUP 5+1, ASFI SAID 'THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN BELIEVES THAT NEGOTIATIONS AND RESPECT OF IRAN'S LEGAL RIGHTS WILL PAVE THE WAY FOR FAIR RESULTS WHICH ARE ACCEPTABLE BY ALL PARTIES'.
