The Secretary General of the Organization for the Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsnoglu, has strongly condemned the suicide bomb attack yesterday on a court in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta which killed over fifteen people including a senior judge and some lawyers. By targeting the judiciary, a critical institution in the dispensation of justice and strengthening the foundations of societal peace, Prof. Ihsanoglu noted that this terrorist act represented a monumental crime against public order as well as waging war against the society. He also denounced the killing of innocent people as a heinous crime in Islam. The Secretary General, while conveying his heartfelt sympathy to the Government and people of Pakistan especially the families of the victims over this tragic incident, prayed to Allah to grant His Jannah to the deceased and a quick recovery to those injured.
