THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE HAS DECIDED TO IMPOSE A TEMPORARY BAN ON THE IMPORT OF SHEEP FROM JORDAN. THE DECISION OF THE MINISTRY CAME FOLLOWING THE REPORT PUBLISHED IN THE BULLETIN OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR ANIMAL HEALTH WHICH SAID THAT 600 HEADS OF SHEEP AND 200 COWS IN JORDAN WERE AFFLICTED BY FOOD-AND-MOUTH DISEASE. THE DISEASE LED TO THE DEATH OF 405 HEADS OF SHEEP.
