The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed his regret and displeasure towards the tragic events taking place yesterday in the Lebanese arena between the Lebanese people. In a press statement, Ihsanoglu called today all the Lebanese parties to display prudence and recognize the risks threatening the future of Lebanon and the Lebanese people. He also called for exerting all efforts to restore calm in all Lebanese regions and provide the appropriate atmosphere for returning to the table of dialogue. Also, OIC Secretary-General has followed with concern and preoccupation the tragic developments taking place in the Republic of Guinea as well as the violent confrontations between the security forces and demonstrators which led to the loss of life and property. Ihsanoglu, therefore, launches an appeal for restraint to all parties to the conflict and reaffirms that the OIC will always provide the necessary support to the Republic of Guinea in its efforts aimed at national construction and development.
