Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed denunciation of military interference in the political crisis in the Republic of Niger. In a statement issued today, the OIC said that its Secretary General is following closely the ongoing political crisis in Niger at the same time the OIC contributed and is contributing to the efforts exerted to reach a peaceful solution, urging the new military power in the Republic of Niger to work hard to hold free and fair elections. Professor Ihsanoglu also called the people of Niger to exercise restraint and maintain calm in order to avoid any action that would constitute a threat to security, peace, stability and unity of their country.
