Spanish police said they found 100 kg of explosives in a Basque Country village on Thursday and said they appeared to have been stored there by ETA guerrillas, according to Reuters. The explosives were stored in a container in the village of Atxondo, the Basque Country police force said in a news release, adding that it was ready for immediate use and only lacked a detonator. The find came after the government broke off peace talks with ETA on Saturday after a car bomb wrecked a multi-storey carpark at Madrid's airport and killed up to two men. Spanish radio had earlier reported that 90 kg of explosives had been found in a car in the nearby town of Durango.
