Portuguese police have discovered a hideout used by the Spanish terrorist group ETA in a Portuguese holiday town, dpa quoted the Spanish Interior Ministry as saying today. The house in Obidos, 100 kilometres north of Lisbon, contained explosives and bomb-making equipment, the ministry added. Earlier in the week, an abandoned car containing two detonators had been found in the area. Spanish anti-terror investigators have long suspected that ETA is using neighbouring Portugal as a retreat from which to plan terrorist attacks.
