THE JEDDAH SCIENCE INNOVATION CLUB RECEIVED DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENTS IN TWO COMPETITION CATEGORIES HELD RECENTLY IN THE KINGDOM AND KUWAIT, REPORTED JEDDAH-BASED 'THE SAUDI GAZETTE'. IN A COMPUTER SCIENCE COMPETITION HELD IN THE KINGDOM, SIX CLUB MEMBERS' WORK ATTAINED A LEADING POSITION AMONG THE 18 ENTRIES. THE SECOND AWARD WAS CLINCHED AT THE THIRD ARAB OLYMPIC FOR CHEMISTRY COMPETITION HELD IN KUWAIT. CLUB MEMBER SAFWAN OSAMA TAYEB TOOK THE THIRD PLACE, BRINGING HOME THE BRONZE MEDAL. THE CLUB, WHICH WAS FOUNDED BY THE MODERN INDUSTRIES COMPANY, CELEBRATED ITS FIRST YEAR RECENTLY. DURING A PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE OCCASION, DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE STUDENTS ACTIVITY DEPARTMENT AND THE GENERAL SUPERVISOR OF THE JEDDAH SCIENCE INNOVATION CLUB ABDULLAH BIN ALI AL-SAIWID SAID 'IN ADDITION TO SAFWAN TAYEB'S ACHIEVEMENT, TWO OTHER CLUB MEMBERS, MAZEN BA-SAIF AND AL-BARA ZAMZAM, FROM AL-THAGHER SCHOOL, SHARED THE FIRST PLACE IN WEBSITE DESIGNING ON A SECONDARY SCHOOL LEVEL. JEEL AL-FAISAL SCHOOL CAME THIRD IN THE SAME CATEGORY.
