Pakistan's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khusro Bakhtiar, leading Pakistan delegation at the third meeting of the Forum for the Future in the Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA) in Amman, Jordan, called for conflict resolution for global peace, says an official statement. The forum brings together foreign affairs and planning ministers of the member countries in partnership with ministers from the G-8 group. Bkhatiar in his address highlighted the government's actions in Pakistan for people's participation in the political process. He emphasized the government's commitment to efforts for ensuring women's participation in the political institutions and towards their economic empowerment. Bakhtiar said the local government system in Pakistan had achieved direct participation of people in decision making bodies, which was the essence of democracy. The Minister also held bilateral meetings with heads of delegation of Qatar, Japan, Spain and Jordan.
