Under the patronage of General President of Youth Welfare, Prince Sultan Bin Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz, who is also the head of the Arab Saudi Olympic Committee, the Saudi Federation for Bowling held yesterday evening a ceremony in honor of the delegations that participated in the eighth Bowling championship for Men Teams of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) 2006, which concluded yesterday evening in Jeddah. President of the Organizing Committee Abdullah Bin Yousef Al-Dosari, President of Bahraini Federation for Bowling delivered a speech in which he thanked the participants and Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz for his efforts to improve the sport of Bowling. He also said that the Organizing Committee of the championship will work on developing this sport and bring it to the level of global competition. Then, Chief of the Saudi Federation for Bowling Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Jraifani handed over the medals to the winners. He also handed over the Cup of the Championship to the team winner of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Later, Secretary General of the Saudi Federation for Bowling Moshari bin Ali Al-Sobeihi handed over the championship flag to Qatar. A documentary film on the Championship produced by Qatar was also shown on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Head of the Saudi Federation for Bowling congratulated the participating teams, praising the effort made by Omani team which attended the event for the first time in the championship. He also wished success for the Gulf teams participating in the Asian Championship. Then, the Head of the Omani delegation team Said bin Rashid Al-Gatbi delivered a speech in which he thanked the Saudi Bowling Federation for hosting the championship, noting the high level shown by the players.
