American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will assist Pakistan s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in curbing cyber and other organized crimes, Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao said. The decision was taken during my meeting with the FBI Director Robert S. Meuller in Islamabad, Sherpao told the reporters. He said the US agency would also cooperate with the FIA in capacity building of its Special Investigation Group (SIG), which is mandated to deal with cases relating to terrorism. The minister said the FBI would provide special training and equipments to SIG in this regard, he added. Regarding Peshawar suicide attack and Lahore bomb blast, Sherpao said certain miscreants wanted to sabotage the law and order in the country. He reiterated the government would not allow anybody to take law in hand and the culprits involved in the two incidents would soon be brought to justice. Sherpao said Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestation and being a frontline-state in the war against terrorism the government is fully committed to root out the menace. The minister said the FBI director Pakistan s role in the war against terrorism.
