A Philippine air force bomber participating in joint military exercises with US troops crash landed Tuesday in a northern province, injuring two people on board, REPORTED DPA. Major Augusto dela Pena said the landing gear of the OV-10 bomber plane collapsed as it approached the runway of Clark Airbase in Pampanga province, 75 kilometres north of Manila. "The pilot and the his co-pilot sustained minor injuries and were being treated at hospital," he said. Dela Pena said the plane had just finished manoeuvres for the joint war games when the accident occurred. Some 5,700 US troops based in Okinawa, Japan and 1,300 Filipino soldiers were participating in the annual war games aimed at enhancing the capability of both forces in fighting terrorists. The joint war games include live-fire drills and air, ground and naval manoeuvres.
