Five people were killed and 57 were injured, some critically, in two separate road accidents in Syria, DPA reported Sunday. The official SANA news agency said two people were killed and 40 injured at dawn when their bus overturned on a bridge and plunged into a valley on the southern Daraa-Damascus highway after the driver apparently fell asleep. Three people were killed and 17 injured when a mini-bus overturned late Saturday on the Homs-Palmyra highway in northeast Syria, al- Baath newspaper of the ruling Baath party said. Police sources at Palmyra said the accident happened when the left front tyre burst.
