A mild earthquake jolted Bangladesh's southeastern port city of Chittagong on Sunday, but no damage or casualties were reported, the weather office said. The 4.1-magnitude quake hit around 1 a.m. Sunday (1900 GMT Saturday) and lasted for about 21 seconds, the Meteorological Office said in the capital, Dhaka. The quake's epicenter could not be determined as Bangladesh's only seismic observatory at Chittagong, 215 kilometers (135 miles) southeast of Dhaka, lacks proper equipment. Southeastern Bangladesh, bordering India and Myanmar, is prone to mild tremors.
