Mild tremors jolted the southern Bangladesh port of Chittagong Saturday, spreading panic in the business city and its neighborhoods, the Meteorological Office said. The tremors measured 3.58 on the Richter Scale and its epicenter was located 101 kilometers from the city. The direction of the epicenter could not be determined because of the absence of proper instruments. No reports of human casualties or property damages were immediately available, officials said. The tremors were felt just after noon and lasted several seconds, residents said. Last week's devastating Asian quake shook the southern coast of the country causing minor damages.
