AN OFFICIAL SOURCE AT THE FOREIGN MINISTRY HAS CATEGORICALLY DENIED REPORTS RECENTLY CIRCULATED BY THE QATARI AND ISRAELI MEDIA. THE REPORTS ALLEGED THAT CONTACTS WERE UNDERWAY BETWEEN THE SAUDI AND ISRAELI OFFICIALS. THE OFFICIAL SOURCE SAID THE REPORTS IN THIS RESPECT WERE FABRICATED AND BASELESS, AND ADDED THAT 'THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA HAS BEEN PLAINLY AND TRANSPARENTLY PLAYING ITS NATIONAL ROLE, AND IT DOES NOT PRACTICE CERTAIN POLICIES PUBLICLY AND OTHERS SECRETLY'. 'THE KINGDOM'S STAND VIS-A-VIS THE PALESTINIAN PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY THE PEACE INITIATIVE , APPROVED BY THE ARAB SUMMIT, HELD IN BEIRUT IN 2002', THE SOURCE NOTED. THE OFFICIAL SOURCE DID NOT RULE OUT CONTINUATION OF SUCH MEDIA REPORTS WHICH ARE FAR AWAY FROM THE TRUTH AND SERVE ONLY THE INTERESTS OF THEIR PROPAGATORS.
