Six children aged three to 16 died when fire swept through an apartment in Chicago in the early hours of Sunday, while three more children and their mother were dramatically saved, dpa reported. A neighbour braved flames searing through the third-floor apartment to rescue one of the three saved children, while the others and their mother were reached by firemen, US media reports said. The fire was believed to have been started by a candle left burning.
