U.S. stocks ended down on Friday as economic growth fears pressured shares of some bellwether companies and disappointing news from chip makers sent tech stocks lower, according to Reuters. Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 36.26 points, or 0.33 percent, to end unofficially at 11,088.11. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 5.11 points, or 0.40 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,266.70. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 14.02 points, or 0.68 percent, to close unofficially at 2,057.72. For the week, the Dow is down 1.36 percent, the S&P 500 is down 0.99 percent and the Nasdaq is down 1.31 percent.
