Technology shares rose on Friday, helped by better-than-expected earnings from Web-search company Google Inc., while the blue-chip Dow fell, after Caterpillar Inc. cut its profit outlook, Reuters said. Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was down 65.88 points, or 0.64 percent, to end unofficially at 10,215.22. The broad Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 1.79 points, or 0.15 percent, at 1,179.59. The tech-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was up 14.10 points, or 0.68 percent, at 2,082.21. For the week, the Dow slipped 0.7 percent, the Nasdaq rose 0.8 percent and the S&P 500 fell 0.6 percent.
