The White House expressed interest on Tuesday in a proposal from Lebanon to send 15,000 troops to southern Lebanon to facilitate an Israeli withdrawal, according to Reuters. "Obviously we're interested in taking a look at it," said White House spokesman Tony Snow, who said it was a topic of discussion among U.N. negotiators in New York. But Snow also said any such move would probably need to be in conjunction with deployment of an international force that the United States hopes will be created through a U.N. Security Council resolution to follow one being debated this week.
