Arab nations demanded on Monday that Israel be told to withdraw its troops from Lebanon as part of any U.N. resolution to end a war that has killed more than 1,000 people, Reuters reported. France's U.N. ambassador Jean-Marc de la Sabliere said changes would probably be made to the Security Council draft resolution after Arab foreign ministers at an emergency meeting in Beirut demanded that Israel pull out some 10,000 soldiers fighting in southern Lebanon. With diplomatic efforts stalled, Israeli air raids on day 27 of the offensive killed at least 25 people in southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley.
