THE DEATH TOLL FROM AN EARTHQUAKE IN SOUTHWESTERN CHINA ROSE TO AT LEAST 22, THREE MORE THAN EARLIER REPORTED, AS RESCUERS REACHED OUTLYING VILLAGES, THE OFFICIAL XINHUA NEWS AGENCY REPORTED SUNDAY.
AT LEAST 106 OTHERS WERE INJURED, EIGHT OF THEM
CRITICALLY, IN SATURDAY'S MAGNITUDE-5.1 QUAKE, XINHUA SAID.
THE QUAKE STRUCK THE REMOTE, HILLY COUNTY OF YANJIN IN YUNNAN PROVINCE.
