Saudi businessman Sheikh Adil Almisehal has met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, according to an official statement. Almisehal, a Saudi Arabia based company, is one of the three shareholders of Wah Nabel, which is a running three companies in Pakistan. Aziz told Sheikh Adil Almisehal that the policy of deregulating the telecom sector has resulted in record high expansion and massive investment in the field and Pakistan now has 32 million mobile phone subscribers and 20% teledensity, which is the highest in the region. The prime minister said that Pakistan because of its investment friendly policies, the level playing field provided to the investors and reduced casts of doing business is fast becoming a destination of choice for foreign investors and the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is expected to reach $3.5 billion by the end of current financial year which is a record in Pakistan's history. On his part, Sheikh Adil Almisehal said Pakistan because of its economic landscape offers great opportunities to foreign investor. He said his company is satisfied with the performance of its business and is planning to expand its area of operations. His Group will be investing in telecom, engineering, communication, shipbuilding and construction sectors in Pakistan, the statement said. The meeting was attended among others by Federal Minister for Defence Production Maj (retd) Habibullah Warriach, Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Ali S Awadh Asseri and seniors officials.
