The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will reconstruct the 400-bed Combined Military Hospital in Muzaffarabad (Azad Kashmir), destroyed in last October's earthquake, at a cost of $16 million. UAE government representative Juma Mubarak Aljunaibi made this announcement during his visit to quake-ravaged hospital, according to an official statement. Aljunaibi said the UAE has planned various projects including education and health sectors in the quake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir and North West Frontier Province (NWFP). He said that his visit aimed at reviewing the needs of areas so that the UAE could contribute in the reconstruction phase.
