Jihafi wrote in Al-Nahar independent newspaper that the statements of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the accession of Yemen to the GCC have pleased, not only Yemenis but all Arabs. He said the Saudi king is well known of his seriousness as an Arab leader who holds all Arab values of generosity, tolerance and courage. In its editorial, Al-Nahar said the remarks of the monarch have put the matter quite clear as never before, futher boosting steps towards the GCC bloc, a matter that put Yemen before challenges to overcome the self-obstacles barring it from qualifying to the membership of GCC. Al-Thawra editor-in-chief Ali Naji Alrawy said that King Abdullah bin Abduaziz is among the most credible Arab leaders when he addresses the nation's issues. He described the king as pragmatic and sincere with himself and others, noting that his speech on Yemen, regional affairs, and Arab and Islamci interests reflect his farsighted visiton and accurate judgement of realities on the ground.
