THE TECHNOLOGY- HEAVY NASDAQ COMPOSITE INDEX ROSE 11.32 POINTS, OR 0.49 PER CENT, TO 2,344.95. ON CURRENCY MARKETS, THE DOLLAR CONTINUED ITS DROP AGAINST THE EURO, FALLING TO 79.78 EURO CENTS FROM 80.32 EURO CENTS ON WEDNESDAY. THE US CURRENCY ALSO LOST AGAINST THE JAPANESE YEN, CLOSING AT 114.11 YEN FROM 114.74 YEN ON WEDNESDAY. GOLD WAS UP 2.50 DOLLARS TO 638 DOLLARS PER FINE OUNCE. -
