SPAIN AND YEMEN SAID TUESDAY THEY WISH TO JOIN FORCES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM THROUGH SHARING INTELLIGENCE AND KNOW-HOW, DPA REPORTED. IN AN EVENING SESSION OF TALKS IN SANA'A, SPANISH FOREIGN MINISTER MIGUEL ANGEL MORATINOS AND HIS YEMENI COUNTERPART ABU-BAKR AL-QERBI EXPRESSED JOINT DESIRE TO BOOST TIES BETWEEN SECURITY BODIES IN THEIR COUNTRIES. "WE SHOULD TRY TO ESTABLISH RELATIONS BETWEEN INTERIOR INISTRIES AND INTELLIGENCE ORGANISATIONS IN SPAIN AND YEMEN," SAID ORATINOS. DURING A MEETING HELD IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIS ARRIVAL IN SANA'A ON A TWO-DAY VISIT. "WE HAVE TO ENFORCE OUR COOPERATION," SAID THE SPANISH MINISTER. "WE SHOULD HAVE A CLEAR COMMITMENT TO WORK TOGETHER AND HARE INFORMATION." YEMEN'S FOREIGN MINISTER INSISTED THAT HIS COUNTRY "IS EAGER TO WORK WITH SPAIN IN FIGHTING TERRORISM." QERBI ADDED THAT HIS COUNTRY COULD SIGN A SECURITY COOPERATION WITH SPAIN SIMILAR TO AGREEMENTS INKED WITH GERMANY AND ITALY. THE TWO SIDES ALSO AGREED TO BOLSTER BILATERAL COMMERCIAL COOPERATION, PARTICULARLY ON THE AREAS OF FISHERIES AND TOURISM. MORATINOS, WHO IS THE FIRST SPANISH FOREIGN MINISTER TO VISIT YEMEN, ALSO STRESSED HIS COUNTRY'S INTEREST TO BUILD A "GREATER PARTNERSHIP" WITH THE ARAB WORLD THROUGH FOSTERING POLITICAL TIES.
