Greek fighter plane reported missing

A Mirage 2000 fighter plane, with one pilot aboard, was reported to have disappeared from radar screens shortly after take-off from Tanagra air force base, reports said Friday, according to DPA.
The fighter plane, which was conducting a routine exercise, disappeared approximately five minutes after take-off in the area of Galaxidiou, west of Athens, in the Gulf of Corinth.
Defence officials said the pilot had a lot of experience with approximately 1,000 hours of flying time under his belt.
Rescue crews were scanning the sea and mountains for signs of the plane.
