An avalanche from one of Mont Blanc's summits Tuesday sent huge chunks of ice down a slope frequented by climbers, killing at least one person and injuring three, police said. The avalanche started from the 4,248-meter (13,937 feet) peak of Mont Blanc de Tucul, one of the tallest in the Mont Blanc range. It sent a 400-meter (1,312-foot) wide wall of moving ice down the slope, police said, according to AP. Rescuers were searching for more victims. Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe, is 4,810 meters (15,780 feet) tall.
