The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization -ISESCO- decried the bombing that shattered yesterday morning the domed holy shrine of Imam Ali al-Hadi in the Iraqi city of Samarraa, and it equally denounced the assault led against a few Sunni mosques in other places in Iraq. In its press release on the occasion, ISESCO pointed out that these destructive attacks are all but the act of Muslims, and that they are rather the maneuver of some alien forces inimical to the magnanimous religion of Islam and Muslims in Iraq. ISESCO further explained that this onslaught on Muslims and the attempt to sow seeds of discord are a furtive stratagem to stoke religious strife and fan sectarian flames among Muslims. In its communiqué, ISESCO entreated the Iraqi people to unite together, regardless of their various sects and doctrinal belonging, and to stand up against this pernicious, hostile conspiracy. The Islamic Organization further stressed vigilance on the part of Muslims the world over to rise up to the plots orchestrated against the Iraqi people and the surreptitious designs to dislocate the unity of the Sunnis and Shiis who are bound together by one creed, one direction towards which they face in prayer, and one state.
