The International Scout Camp 2006, organized under the banner "together for peace" began in this Arab Gulf port of Jubail today under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. More than 1500 scouts from more than 90 countries took part in the opening march. The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the International Federation for Muslim Scouts Dr. Abdullah Naseef and Chairman of the Saudi Arabia Scouts Commission Dr. Abdullah Alobaid, who is also Minister of Education. Later, Dr. Abdul Kareem Bakkar delivered a lecture titled "the Cultural base for International Islam", organized by King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue which is taking part in the event.
