Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, who left for the United States Tuesday evening will have a busy schedule in his week-long trip, according to Pakistani diplomats. His flight en-route to New York stopped at Birmingham Airport where Pakistan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr Maleeha Lodhi welcomed the Prime Minister. Aziz is accompanied by a 75 members delegation including Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Minister for Textiles Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Minister for privatization Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and others. The Prime Minister will address the Pakistani expatriates at Hotel Waldroff Manhattan New York on January 21 where a long list of about 1000 guests are expected to attend the public meeting. He will be interviewed by CNN and ABC while in New York and by Washington post during his Washington visit. He is schedule to visit the New York Stock exchange and will have a meeting with the Chambers of Commerce. Aziz will meet with United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan on Friday at his 38th floor UN Office. The Prime Minister will have a 25 minutes meeting with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Monday Jan 23 and also meet with Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfield same day. Aziz will meet with U.S President George W. Bush on Tuesday, January 24 at the White House. Also he is scheduled to meet with US Vice President Dick Cheney on 24th. He will meet with different Senate Committees, 21 representatives of United States Trade Representatives (USTR), a luncheon meeting with US Chambers of Commerce is also on the mark where the Prime Minister will make an address. An address at Heritage Foundation, followed by dinner by Paul Wolfow World Bank President is also on the card. He is expected to meet with Barry B. R Jacobs, Director Strategic Studies American Jewish Congress in Washington, who met with President Musharraf during his Islamabad visit a month back.
