Saudi Arabia produced more than one billion cubic meters of the desalinated water in 1424-1425 AH through 30 desalination stations at the coasts of the Red Sea and the Arab Gulf. In realization of the importance of the desalinated water, the Saudi Government has spent billions of riyals for setting up these water desalination stations. In 1394 AH, a Royal decree was issued for the establishment of the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) as an independent organ. The water desalination station of Jubail is considered as the biggest water desalination station in the world.
