Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf has called for projecting Islam in its true perspective as a religion of peace and tolerance. Talking to visiting Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf of Masjid Al-Farah, New York Saturday in Rawalpindi, he said Islam stands for peace, tolerance, enlightenment and moderation. Imam Faisal appreciated Pakistan's efforts under leadership of President Musharraf for the promotion of inter-faith harmony and tolerance in society, according to a report of Pakistan Press International (PPI).
