Britain was ``highly appreciative'' of efforts made by Pakistan under the leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf in fighting terrorism and extremism. This was noted by visiting British Secretary of State for Defense John Reid, when he called on President Pervez Musharraf Monday in Rawalpindi. Reid also expressed his resolve for further strengthening defense cooperation between Britain and Pakistan. During the meeting, the President recalled the existing friendly relations between the two countries. He hoped that visit of Reid would serve to further enhance these ties. The President exchanged views with Reid on various facets of cooperation between the two countries in field of defense, according to a report of Pakistan Press International (PPI).
