Scheffer met with Turkey's Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul on
Monday to discuss security issues ranging from fighting
terrorists to instability in neighboring Iraq.
De Hoop Scheffer is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip Erdogan later Monday, the Associated Press reported.
