Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of local and international topics. Al-Jazeerah newspaper said that the limited period of the pardon granted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the individuals of the deviating group to surrender to authorities expired on Thursday evening, noting that some individuals of this group wanted by authorities in connection with security cases surrendered. It pointed out that the pardon showed the government's keenness on providing an opportunity for those who want to repent from the heinous criminal acts aiming at destabilizing the country. The paper stressed that the pardon call emanated from a position of strength and a full control of the situation in the Kingdom. On the same topic, Okaz newspaper said that after the expiry date of the pardon, the phase of the real confrontation with the deviating thought and its supporters will start, noting that this phase necessitates the unity of all efforts to unmask this thought which led to tragic events in the Kingdom. On its part, Al-Madinah newspaper said that the limited period of the pardon expired, but the war on terrorism did not end, indicating that combating the terror thought is still at the start.
