Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan, President of the United Arab Emirates, today expressed pleasure to take part in the Extraordinary Islamic Summit convening upon initiative from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to discuss the situations in the Islamic world and unify the visions of its member states. In an arrival statement at the Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz International Airport earlier today, Sheikh Khalifa said the summit gains special importance due to the current circumstances and developments which necessitate the solidarity of the Islamic nation, paving the way for unifying its ranks to face the threats endangering it. We look forward to positive outcome of the summit, particularly in the field of enhancing its interests in the political, economic, social, cultural and scientific fields, he told reporters. He said the UAE is keen to continue supporting the ties of cooperation among the OIC member states to enable the organization play its role in a way that benefits the Islamic countries.
